The prognosis of lymphangioma is generally excellent. The lymphangiomas provide a temporary relief and they should be removed by surgery. The lymphangioma heals with the flash lamp dye laser. This can also cause the port wine stains along with the vascular lesions. The removal of abnormal tissues occurs in the cystic hygroma. The complete removal is not possible as the normal tissues are present along with it. The tumor must be removed surgically and other procedures are required to remove the excess of lymphangioma.

At least two procedures are required to remove the lymphangioma. The recurrence may occur but the chances are very limited as these lesions are removed completely by the surgery. The other procedures such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy are not effective in treating this condition.
