A good quality CT helps in the diagnosis of this condition. It detects the nueromas which are larger in size that is they are more than 2 cm in diameter. They also detect the neuromas which are more than 1.5 cm in diameter and are present in the cerebello pontine angle. The smaller tumors are detected with the help of MRI along with the gadolinium enhancement.
There are audiology and vestibular tests which must be evaluated and bone conduction threshold testing must be done to assess the sensori nueral as compared to conduction hearing losses.
