It is defined as a disorder in which there is a deficiency of the red blood cells. One can also note the decrease in hemoglobin which is present in the blood.

What are the different types of anemia?

It includes the micro cytic, normo cytic, macro cytic and dim orphic types.

The micro cystic anemia involves mainly the iron deficiency anemia and hemo globinopathy. The iron deficiency anemia is the most common type of anemia. The other type of anemia could be sickle cell anemia and thalassemia.

The normo cystic anemia involves mainly the loss of blood, chronic disease and the failure of bone marrow to regenerate.

The macro cystic anemia involves mainly the megaloblastic anemia in which there is a not enough of folic acid or vitamin B 12. There is another type of anemia known as pernicious anemia in which there is an involvement of the parietal cells present in the stomach. The other reason could be the use of alcohol or certain drugs which prevent the division of DNA. It is the common cause in the people which do not drink anymore.

The dimorphic anemia involves mainly the two different types of anemia which occur at the same time. In this there is a deficiency of vitamin B 12 or folic acid or iron. It can occur after the blood transfusion also.

It includes the use of blood test mainly.

How anemia can be treated?

It includes the use of diet which is rich in iron. One must rely on green leafy vegetables.

How anemia can be prevented?

It includes the use of proper nutritious diet.
