They are of mainly two types primary as well as secondary. The primary condition is defined as a condition in which the young woman does not have periods till the age of 16. The secondary condition is defined as a condition in which the women who has a normal menstrual cycle does not have a normal cycle after 3 or more months.

The other reasons can be the loss of weight, increase in the period of illness and exercise; there is a weight gain along with a problem in the hormone level. There are tumors in the brain along with a problem in the thyroid gland. But these conditions are not so common.
